Zhongshan Electronic Incubation Base | Industrial Park Facade Illumination
Zhongshan, China | Industrial Park Facade | DMX512 Smart System | 2024
Project Overview
The Zhongshan Electronic Incubation Base, a massive 104,200 sq.m industrial hub, required a dynamic facade illumination system to reflect its core focus on cutting-edge electronics and innovation.
TPK Lighting engineered a comprehensive outline lighting solution comprising 2,450 units of LLS-OP-W30A-L6-DMX linear lights, 960 meters of flexible neon strips, and highly synchronized LPM-R120A pixel dots. Operating on a unified DMX512 smart control network, the 160kW installation ensures precise, pixel-level animation that visually mimics the rapid data flow of electronic circuit boards.
This project demonstrates TPK's capability to deliver high-impact architectural lighting and integrated control systems under strict budget constraints and complex multi-fixture installation requirements.
Key Challenges & TPK Solutions
Overcoming Installation Hurdles — The Engineering Problem
Budget Cut & Value Engineering
The initial design included extensive internal graze lighting and dense pixel screens. A significant budget reduction necessitated a minimalist yet visually striking alternative to maintain the architectural identity.
High-Yield Outline Strategy
TPK engineered a cost-effective outline approach utilizing LLS-OP-W30A-L6-DMX fixtures. The RGB 8-segment pixel control delivers dynamic architectural emphasis, maximizing visual impact within strict financial limits.
Legacy Control Infrastructure
The original specification relied on basic time switches within the distribution boxes. The client required an upgrade to a centralized, smart control system capable of managing 15,000 individual pixel addresses.
Centralized DMX512 Architecture
We deployed a complete smart control ecosystem, including 2 master controllers and 10 sub-controllers housed in custom outdoor enclosures, enabling unified software management from the central control room.
Multi-Fixture Synchronization
Coordinating 2,450 linear lights, 960 meters of neon flex, and point lights across a 99.7-meter-tall facade requires flawless signal synchronization and unified color consistency.
Unified Protocol & Addressing
TPK supplied all fixture categories under a unified DMX512 protocol standard. Our engineers provided precise on-site addressing and calibration, ensuring zero latency across the entire facade network.
